AdGroups

AdGroups are a feature that allows you to break down your campaign into different subsets. At a minimum your Campaign will have one AdGroup, but you can create as many as needed.

AdGroups provide flexibility in campaign management and allows for more targeted advertising strategies within a single campaign.

 

AdGroup Features

  • Serve a specific set of ads.
  • Target/exclude a particular audience.
  • Target a specific location.
  • Run on a custom schedule.
  • Measure individual performance for each.

 

AdGroup Budget Limitations

  • The overall campaign budget is shared fluidly among all AdGroups.
  • You cannot set separate budgets for individual AdGroups.

 

B2B AdGroup Example

For example, if you're hosting a live webinar, you can launch a Website Retargeting Campaign and create an specific AdGroup to:

  • Serve specific Ads that promote your upcoming webinar.
  • Define a custom AdGroup schedule to stop serving these ads after the Webinar starts, all while maintaining the general campaign running.
  • Define your specific AdGroup audiences:
      • Target the Website Audiences that have visited your webinar landing page and your events pages.
      • Target a Contact Audience based on an email list from previous webinar attendees.
      • Exclude a Contact Audience based on an email list of the attendees that have confirmed they will attend.
      • Exclude your Conversion Audiences for people who have submitted the form to attend the webinar.
