Identify your current Authenticated User
If you already have connected your Salesforce instance to the AdRoll ABM platform, you will find the Authenticated User that manages the integration by navigating to Settings > Integrations > Salesforce > User Email
Choose your new Authenticated User
A full Salesforce license is required
The Authenticated User must have a full Salesforce user license to access all integration features. A Salesforce Integration User license can be used with limitations — see Choosing the Right Authenticated User License before proceeding.
Your Salesforce CRM Admin which user will be used to authenticate and manage the AdRoll ABM integration. It is recommended using a full user license dedicated to manage all 3rd party integrations. This will prevent data sync interruptions if the user leaves your company and is deactivated.
Assign Authenticated User Permissions
You must assign the permissions below to the Salesforce user who authorizes the App package, also referred to as the Authenticated User. This is a crucial step to ensure the integration is configured correctly and data is synced daily between the AdRoll ABM platform and Salesforce bidirectionally.
- AdRoll Admin permission set is included with the package
- Under System permissions > Users:
- View all users
- Manage Profiles and Permission Sets
- Under System permissions > System
- View Setup and Configuration
- View Roles and Role Hierarchy
- Under Object Settings for Account, Opportunity, Contact, Lead, Campaign, and Task/Activity objects:
- Object Permissions: Enable Read, Create, Edit, Delete, View All, Modify All
- Field Permissions: Enable Read Access, Create Access, and Edit Access to all fields in the object
If these permissions are not granted to the Authenticated User, you may experience some of the following issues:
- Missing data in Salesforce Custom Objects and Salesforce Reports
- Missing data in the Revenue Impact Report
- Unavailable Salesforce filters when building Account Lists and Contact Lists
- Unavailable Salesforce filters when customizing Journey Stages
- Unavailable Salesforce filters when customizing Workflows
