The AdRoll AI Assistant helps simplify that work by providing intelligent guidance, helping you identify and implement optimizations, and generating tailored reports. In AdRoll ABM, the assistant can be opened from the left-hand navigation whenever you need support with critical steps in your advertising process.
While the assistant’s capabilities today focus on your advertising campaigns, it will soon support more stages of your ABM programs, from planning and alignment to execution and measurement.

The AI Assistant is powered by the HeroIQ AI agent layer, a coordinated system of AI agents working behind the scenes.
Agents are trained to complete specific tasks by orchestrating the right set of skills and tools. Skills are specialized capabilities that help analyze data, take action, or generate content. Tools are functional components that agents call on to complete tasks effectively.
The agents work together and share context so you only interact with the AI assistant—not individual agents. All coordination happens behind the scenes, giving you a seamless, unified experience.
We’re building strong foundations for our agents, developing tools and refining skills to maximize the value they deliver. Over time, these agents will become more autonomous and capable of handling increasingly complex tasks on your behalf.
AdRoll AI Assistant Key Features
You can access the AI Assistant from the left-hand navigation menu via Home page. Jump to one of the sections below to learn more about the specific use cases AI assistant can help you with:
Ask Me Anything
- Ask questions in natural language to get answers instantly.
- Validate campaign setup, clarify concepts, troubleshoot issues, or explore new ideas.
- Use in-context prompts when you’re unsure or want to progress the chat.
To use Ask Me Anything, open the assistant from the left-hand navigation.
In the chat box, type your question in natural language – for example:
- “What does CTR mean?”
- “How do I track conversions?”
If you’re not sure where to start, you can also explore suggested starter prompts within the assistant chat window.
The assistant draws on best-practice recommendations, internal technical documentation, and Help Center resources to give you accurate, helpful answers. You can use it to clarify setup steps, validate your campaign settings, troubleshoot issues, or explore new ideas.
As with any conversation, you can follow up to dig deeper or ask for clarification. The assistant remembers the context of your current chat, so your follow-up questions build on what’s already been discussed. When relevant, it will also provide direct links to helpful articles so you can connect to answers quickly.
Optimizations
To access Optimizations, open the assistant in chat and ask for recommendations.
- Access 15+ campaign optimization suggestions, provided in context through chat.
- Explore each recommendation further with follow-up prompts to better understand the reasoning behind it.
For example, you might type “What optimizations can I make to improve my campaign performance?”
The assistant will provide suggestions such as filling in missing ad sizes, addressing setup gaps, or refining audience segments. Follow-up prompts make it easy to dive deeper into each recommendation, and you can also ask the assistant directly to explain why a suggestion was made.
From there, you decide whether to implement the recommendation. The assistant won’t make changes automatically.
Smarter Reporting
To use Reporting, simply open the Assistant from the left-hand navigation. In the chat box, type your reporting request in natural language — for example:
- "Give me a performance report for last month with an ad preview as the first column"
- "Which channel had the highest ROI last month?"
- “Show Q3 campaign performance”
Using these prompts you can to surface quick insights and build tailored reports:
- Compare performance over time or prepare for reviews without switching between dashboards.
- Sort, filter, and adjust reports directly in-line or through chat, then save, export, or schedule them.
The assistant will generate a live, editable report based on your request. You can sort, filter, and adjust fields such as metrics or ad previews directly in the report builder or by continuing the conversation in chat. For example, if you ask, “Replace the CTR column with a CPM column,” the assistant will update the existing report rather than starting over.
Once you have the report you need, you can save it, export it, or schedule it for recurring use. This makes it easy to prep for internal reviews or draw insights that inform strategy and optimizations — without the hassle of piecing together data from multiple reports.

Note: The AI Assistant currently supports advertising campaign reports only. Revenue Impact Reports, Engagement Reports, and other ABM reporting are not yet available.
Tips for Best Results
- Have a question you’d normally search the web for or dig through the Help Center to find? Ask the Assistant instead.
- When looking for insights or generating reports, the Assistant understands natural language but specific requests with plenty of context will help you get results faster.
- Review AI-generated content and recommendations before applying changes to ensure they align with your objectives.
- Use follow-up prompts to refine results instead of starting over. You can revisit any past conversation in the Assistant.

- AI is prone to hallucinations and can generate inaccurate responses from time to time – always review and confirm AI-generated suggestions before applying them.
- Current features are in early access (alpha) and will continue to evolve.
