Getting Retargeted by Your Own Ad

 Remember

Getting retargeted by your own ads might affect the effectiveness of your campaign. This way part of the budget will be spent on serving ads to you instead of reaching your desired audience.

We show your ads on sites where they have the best chance of engaging your visitors. There are several factors that contribute to where ads are served, including, but not limited to, industry, time of day, seasonality, the intent of the user, bid-win rates, and more. Because of the in-depth algorithms that dictate ad placement, it's difficult to predict where you'll be able to see your ads.

See Your Ad in Action

Use an incognito window to start with clean browser history, so you don't get retargeted by other brands you’ve recently engaged with.

  1. Visit your website.
  2. Click around your site to view different pages and products.
  3. Open a new tab in the same browser.
  4. Browse other websites to see your ads.

 Remember

Downloading the "Ad Placements" report from your Campaign Reports tab in the dashboard will provide the list of websites where your ads are being served.

Additional Considerations

Make sure that your browser’s cookies are enabled. Allow RollWorks and our other partner exchanges to target you. You can verify or adjust settings here. Disable any adblocking software.

Use case

There are many cases where someone wants to view their own ads and the most common ones are for testing purposes. When a user wishes to test the set of ads and check the way they are serving and make sure that the images are not pixelated. Also, to make sure whether the given description is displayed correctly.
