Pixel Assistant Overview
Pixel Assistant is a tool for RollWorks users to validate their pixel placement, visualize audiences, and tag high intent pages with appropriate categories. Pixel Assistant offers more precision and control in visualizing and evaluating the most valuable website traffic to target in a campaign or playbook.
Step by Step Instructions for how to use Pixel Assistant
Step 1 - Click ‘Launch’ button on the Pixel Assistant banner under the "Audiences" section of the "Engage" tab.
Step 2 - Click 'Launch' to take you to your website.
Step 3 - Welcome screen of Pixel Assistant. You can minimize, maximize, reduce the size, pop-in and pop-out the tool as you wish. Click the ‘Lets do it’ button to complete the 3 step new user flow.
Step 4 - Visit your high user traffic webpages and tag the appropriate page categories using the tool. These can be pages Simply click on the drop down and select the appropriate category.
Step 5 - Run the Pixel Assistant on your conversion/form fill page and you would be able to validate if the conversion is detected as seen on the second tab below.
Step 6 - Visualize the audiences and compare it against your setting in the dashboard. For example, check if you accurately set up your URL audience on this page.
Step 7 - Check if any of your high traffic pages have the RollWorks Pixel missing. It is very important to track your website user activity to perform accurate measurement, analytics, attribution and reporting. You can validate that by simply running Pixel Assistant on a page. Download the CSV file to review and take action.
Q: How do I access Pixel Assistant?
A: Login to your dashboard and navigate to the "Audiences" section of the "Identify" tab. Navigate to the component highlighting Pixel Assistant, then click ‘Launch’.
Q: How does Pixel Assistant Work?
A: Pixel Assistant is designed to help marketers validate that the RollWorks pixel is properly tracking in order to improve the overall performance of marketing strategies. Pixel Assistant has 4 components:
- Verifying the Pixel activity status.
- Tagging of Page category, which helps us understand the categories of the webpages on your website and apply it to better tune campaign performance.
- A dynamic component to validate conversion/form fill tracking
- Notification around missing pages with Pixel.
Q: Do I have to go through the welcome user flow on Pixel Assistant?
A: Yes, we recommend finishing the simple 3 step welcome flow. It gives our systems a better understanding of the key pages on your website, which further helps in the long term performance of your campaigns.
Q: I see a wrong page category assigned to my home page, should I change it?
A: Yes. We encourage you to use the option to change the page category and make it a close match. This allows us to run better models which eventually helps with the performance.
Q: How does Pixel Assistant appear on my website? Is Pixel Assistant visible to my website visitors?
A: Pixel Assistant is injected using a iFrame method and can only be accessed by the authorized account user within RollWorks. It is not visible to website visitors
Q: As a marketer, when should I use Pixel Assistant?
A: We recommend using the tool at least once a month to validate if all the touch points are being tracked and functioning accurately. We recommend using the tool whenever you make changes to the website pages to ensure there are no tracking issues that need to be addressed.
Q: Does Pixel Assistant capture additional data?
A: Pixel Assistant is a tool that is built to help marketers and does not collect any type of data besides the page category. Page category data includes the type and url of the page.
